Abba Kyari Drags FG To Court, Seeks Release From NDLEA Custody

The Federal Government has been sued by a detained Deputy Commissioner of Police, DCP, who is challenging his ongoing incarceration by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency in a Federal High Court in Abuja (NDLEA).
Kyari, who is currently on suspension from the Nigerian Police Force, is seeking an order from the court to free him immediately in the petition marked FHC/ABJ/CS/182/22.
Alternatively, the suspended DCP, who is being held by the NDLEA on suspicion of hard drug trafficking, wants the court to grant him release with lenient conditions.
Ex-parte application filed with the lawsuit is due to be heard today by Justice Inyang Eden Ekwo.
