Preceding Legislation and the Ban
This harrowing incident aligns with recent legislation passed in England and Wales, subjecting XL Bullies to the Dangerous Dogs Act.
The comprehensive law prohibits various activities involving these dogs, including breeding, selling, advertising, gifting, or allowing them to roam.
Effective January 31, ownership of an XL Bully becomes an offense unless it’s registered and compliant with specified requirements.
Additionally, strict deadlines mandate neutering for dogs over one year by June 30, and younger dogs by December 31, post the ban’s enforcement.
