Emer-G-Med paramedics reacted to a head-on collision on the N14 in the Kathu region shortly after 04h00 on Saturday morning.

When police arrived, they discovered a high-impact collision between a Toyota Fortuner and a Volkswagen Polo. Three Toyota occupants were ejected from the vehicle.

A closer look revealed that an adult male was dead when paramedics arrived, while a female and male in their thirties received serious injuries.

Paramedics using Advanced Life Support worked tirelessly to stabilise them before transporting them by ambulance to neighbouring hospitals for further medical care.

Although the South African Police Services were on the scene and will be performing the necessary investigation as a result, it is claimed that the driver of the Volkswagen fled the scene.
