A head-on collision between a bakkie and car on the R34 leaves five dead and one seriously injured

Reports of a collision prompted Kwazulu Private Ambulance Service to send an ambulance to the R34 Melmoth road between the Mondlo and Klipfontein exits.

A bakkie and car were involved in a head-on collision when emergency personnel arrived.

One patient had incurred critical injuries, the paramedics discovered after promptly assessing the scene.

Before being taken to the hospital for additional care, the patient received treatment on the scene.

Sadly, before emergency personnel could arrive, five of the car’s occupants passed away from their injuries.
