During a speech at a fundraiser in Los Angeles on Thursday night, President Joe Biden returned to criticizing the media and attacked the dominance of the mainstream media, which he sometimes seeks out.
He said, “There are no editors any longer.” At a luncheon with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, he addressed the group of wealthy contributors, “The capacity of newspapers to have much effect is de minimis.”

Biden made the remark while talking about how it may be more difficult to identify the truth in the age of technology, which he said is generating social rifts.
He was reiterating a criticism made often by liberals of the media’s role in 2016 and beyond, a period when Donald Trump was able to have unrestricted airtime for a number of political charges against his opponents, in part because media outlets broadcast them and profited from web hits.

A variety of persons and groups may choose who and what drives the news thanks to new technology and a more fragmented media.
Marcy Carsey, a producer, was the host of Biden’s speech. Reporters accompanying the president have seen TV personality Bill Nye, filmmaker Rob Reiner, and fashion designer Tom Ford.
With attendees contributing up to $10,000 per pair and $50,000 to host the event, he utilized it to raise money for the Democratic campaign arm. According to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, it would raise around $5 million.
Despite making overt gestures in favor of the print media and sometimes boarding Marine One from the White House with a newspaper under his arm, Biden made the statement.
He avoids doing formal news conferences, and last month he appeared on CBS’s “60 Minutes” for only his second TV interview of the year, stuttering when he stated “the epidemic is finished.”
In a February interview with NBC, when Lester Holt pressed Biden about inflation, he referred to Holt as a “smart person.”
In his remarks, Biden also mentioned Russian President Vladimir Putin, who was the focus of lengthy speeches at a recent event at James Murdoch’s Manhattan residence.
He also discussed the House Jan. 6th Committee on the day it unveiled shocking video of Pelosi taken during the assault on the Capitol.
As a result of the committee’s efforts, “I believe we’re going to see some meaningful change,” Biden added.
Biden has been known to yell at specific reporters on occasion, using phrases like “Go back and read what I said.”
