The “vitriolic remarks” regarding Harry Styles’ most recent movie, “Don’t Worry Darling,” have been criticized by his mother.

The comments section of Anne Twist’s positive review of Olivia Wilde’s psychological thriller, in which her “As It Was” hitmaker son portrays workaholic Jack Chambers, were flooded with disparaging comments.

“First time at the French cinema… first day showing… ‘Don’t Worry Darling,’ you were fantastic!” was how she began her post.

“Really loved the whole experience. Well done, @oliviawilde and colleagues, for capturing our attention. Congratulations, @harrystyles baby, for playing a fantastic Jack. As always, really proud.

Twist later shared on her Instagram Story how “saddened” she is by the criticism directed at the film and its ensemble cast, which also features Florence Pugh and Chris Pine.

If you can’t say anything kind, don’t say anything at all, she said.

To be honest, I’m shocked and dismayed by the divisive remarks posted here. I relished a movie. Don’t go if it’s not your cup of tea.

“If you don’t like me, please don’t follow me,” she said in closing. Simple.”

Days before to her tweet, Wilde responded to the “strange rumor” that Styles had spat on Pine.

Recently, video of the “Late Night Talking” singer and his co-star at the Venice Film Festival premiere of their movie went viral, leading many to speculate that Styles spat on Pine.

The 28-year-old actor allegedly spit on his 42-year-old cast member as they took their seats next to one other before the filming, according to internet claims debunked by Pine’s representative.

Styles even made fun of “spit-gate” when performing in New York City.

And the filmmaker, who also happens to be Styles’ girlfriend, spoke about the “drama.”

Speaking during an appearance on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” Wilde said: “Another one of our odd rumors, spit-gate, which you may have heard about, is I suppose…

Colbert then boldly intervened and demanded to know whether or not Harry Styles had spat on Chris Pine. Back up your response.

No, he did not, Wilde replied, grinning.

But I feel like it’s the epitome of how people will hunt for drama anywhere they can. Chris wasn’t spat on by Harry, in fact.

Only time will tell, the presenter continued to taunt his visitor.

No, he really didn’t, Wilde said with a smirk.

A representative for Pine previously released the following statement: “This is a stupid narrative — a total fiction and the consequence of a weird web illusion that is blatantly deceptive and permits silly conjecture.

Just to be clear, Chris Pine was not spat on by Harry Styles.

The video sparked rumors of a conflict between the two.

The representative, however, said that the rumors were unfounded and that they had “nothing but respect” for one another.

“There is nothing but respect between these two individuals,” the official said, “and any notion otherwise is a shameless effort to generate drama that just does not exist.”

On September 7, Styles celebrated his milestone 10th performance at the New York City venue, and the former member of One Direction made light of the spitting incident.

This is our tenth performance at Madison Square Garden, and it is great, amazing, wonderful to be back here, he told the fans.

Fear not, we’re back! I just stopped by Venice to spit on Chris Pine.
