The 16-year-family old’s describes themselves as “broken” by the ‘most unjust’ manner in which their ‘beautiful and ‘fiercely independent’ kid was stolen from them.

David Celino, 16, of Worsley, Salford, has been identified as the adolescent by West Yorkshire Police.

After apparently ingesting a “grey or black” MDMA pill at Leeds Festival, David unfortunately passed away early on Sunday morning.

‘Our David was a lovely, fiercely independent and kind guy who lived every day at 110% and who liked to spend time enjoying music with his friends,’ his family said in a statement.

He just achieved excellent GCSE grades, was accepted into college, and intended to pursue a degree in computer technology at a prestigious institution.

“Leeds Festival was the high point of his summer, and in the end, it was to take his life in the most unjust, terrible, and horrific manner, and we are crushed,” his family said.

Around 10.16 on Saturday night, officers received a report that the kid had been transported to the medical tent after becoming sick.

He was rushed to the hospital, but sadly he passed away on Sunday.

While the precise cause of his death has not yet been determined, West Yorkshire Police stated: “One line of inquiry is that he had consumed a certain sort of ecstasy (MDMA) pill, which was described as a grey or black oblong form.

Currently, it is assumed that this was an unique incidence since there haven’t been any complaints of anything comparable.

Users of any medicine that is not medically prescribed by a doctor cannot be certain of its contents or the hazards associated with taking the medication.

The police are still looking into David’s death, and they are still helping his family.

Following the unfortunate death, West Yorkshire Police Assistant Chief Constable Catherine Hankinson said: “Anyone who does feel sick after taking any drug should seek immediate medical treatment.”

We are carefully coordinating with the event organisers while still doing on-site inquiries.

On social media, police also issued a call for anybody with knowledge on the tragedy to come forward.
