Danish Air Force begins NATO air policing in Iceland

On Wednesday, August 17, 2022, Danish F-16s will commence flying air policing flights from Keflavik Air Base as part of NATO’s ongoing commitment to keep Icelandic airspace safe and secure.

The Danish contingent will assist the Icelandic Coast Guard and will remain on standby until mid-September. This is Denmark’s fifth deployment to Iceland, following deployments in 2009, 2010, 2015, and 2018.
