Police charge two women for allegedly leaving a toddler on a scorching hot bus for six hours

Two ladies have been accused by the police for allegedly abandoning a young child on a hot bus for six hours, which caused renal failure in the child.

The three-year-old was miraculously saved after being put into a coma when she was discovered at the Le Smileys Early Learning Center in Gracemere, Rockhampton, in Central Queensland, unresponsive and in severe condition.

Tuesday just before 4 o’clock saw police announcing that two Gracemere ladies had been charged with one count of felony gbh.

On May 4, at around 8.30 am, the two ladies, ages 30 and 31, reportedly picked up the little kid and drove to the daycare center, where they parked the bus and left her inside.

Steps away, there two signs warning of the dangers of leaving children in hot cars.

At around 2.45 p.m., a different staff member is said to have driven the vehicle to a Gracemere school and discovered the unconscious woman there.

On the day she was abandoned in the vehicle, the temperature climbed to about 30C.

After being brought into the facility, staff members began performing CPR and dialing for help.

The youngster was airlifted from Rockhampton Base Hospital to Queensland Children’s Hospital in Brisbane after being sent there in a severe condition.

A couple of days later, her grandmother appeared on morning television shows to say she was ‘awake, smiling, and eating ice-cream’.

‘She’s calling out, squealing and laughing, poking her tongue out – she’s doing awesome,’ the grandmother said.

The child has since made an astonishing recovery and returned home.

The two accused women are due to appear in Rockhampton Magistrates Court on July 26.
