Police arrest a 36-year-old woman after she shot her neighbor

After shooting her neighbor outside a Capitol Hill apartment building late on Wednesday, police detained a 36-year-old woman.

The culprit approached the victim, a 36-year-old man, as he was smoking outside the structure on the 500 block of 12th Avenue just before midnight, pistol-whipped him, and then shot him.

When police arrived on the site, they discovered the victim in a nearby garage.

The victim was taken by medical personnel to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition.

Before booking the suspect into the King County Jail, police proceeded to the suspect’s apartment, detained her, and took a firearm from her possession.
