The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (SANRAL) Board will be joined by the Minister of Transport, Mr. Fikile Mbalula, as it provides an update on the developments after the cancellation of various SANRAL tenders totaling R17.473 billion.

The Board stated in May that these tenders were terminated as a result of failure to follow a board resolution and flaws found in the procurement procedure.

The Board also stated that a different public entity will be approached to manage the tendering process and that the canceled tenders would be re-advertised.

The media briefing will cover the developments since the award of disapproval was announced as well as the steps to take to guarantee that the procedure is finished within the anticipated time frames.

The following are the specifics of the media briefing:

Date: June 30, 2022, Thursday
Location: 36 Asseggai Wood Street, Rooihuiskraal Ext 39, Centurion, 0157; SANRAL Central Operations Centre (COC).
Time: 10h00

Media attendees are asked to contact Mr. Esethu Hasane to confirm their attendance at the event at 071 259 2442 or hasanee@dot.gov.za.
