Violent occurrences in Hargeisa alarms International Partners

The violent occurrences that occurred during today’s political protests in Hargeisa have alarmed international partners who are monitoring Somaliland’s democratisation process. We advise all parties to use caution in order to de-escalate the situation and avoid violence and injury.

To maintain Somaliland’s peace, stability, and democracy, all parties must participate in meaningful and regular communication in order to develop a consensus on the way forward and produce an agreed-upon election roadmap.
