On suspicion of murdering football fan Simon Dobbin, five men have been arrested. Mr Dobbin died in 2020 after an attack on his way home from a match in Southend in 2015 left him with permanent brain damage, according to Essex Police.

The Cambridge United supporter had gone to witness their team play Southend United on the road.

Five men have been arrested on suspicion of murdering Simon Dobbin by detectives investigating his death.

Cambridge United fan Simon was attacked in #Southend in March 2015.

He sadly died in October 2020.
