FIFA+ digital platform becomes available in 4 additional languages

The global streaming service now includes Japanese, Korean, Italian, and Bahasa, with Arabic to follow soon. FIFA+ is now available in nine languages, with additional subtitling options on select content. Market-specific ‘hubs’ will feature short-form content and regional editorial as part of the rollout.

FIFA+ (https://fifa.fans/3zrnmHm), the world-class digital platform that connects football fans around the world more deeply with the game they love, has added four new languages to its user experience, making it more accessible than ever.

Japanese, Korean, Italian, and Bahasa will be available across the platform and its entire content offering starting on June 7th, improving accessibility for over 465 million[i] speakers around the world.

Along with English, French, German, Portuguese, and Spanish, it brings the total number of languages available on the platform to nine, with additional subtitling options available on select content.

In addition, a new ‘hub’ feature will be available for Korean, Japanese, and Bahasa-speaking fans, which will feature region-specific short-form content and news in addition to regular content, ensuring that football fans feel connected to and can explore the global game.

“FIFA+ is about making football truly global and inclusive, and giving fans around the world a tool to engage with the game in new ways,” FIFA Director of Strategy, Corporate Development, and FIFA+ Charlotte Burr said in a statement. The addition of these four new languages is the next step in achieving that goal, and we’re ecstatic to be bringing the platform to even more fans around the world.”

The platform (https://fifa.fans/3tKG9K7), which debuted in April, is a watershed moment in FIFA’s history. FIFA+ offers free access to 40,000 live football matches from around the world each year, as well as an archive of every men’s and women’s world cup match ever broadcast, as well as a slate of originals including full-length documentaries, docuseries, talk shows, and shorts.
