70-year old Pensioner, who went missing found alive after six days

After six days in the woods, a pensioner was discovered alive.

Inpan Wongkhamnuan, a 70-year-old Thai villager, vanished after wandering into the forest near his home in quest of his favorite mango.

On May 26, however, instead of strolling toward the orchard, the senior took a track that led him deeper into the jungle near Lampang, Thailand.

Concerned family members requested assistance from authorities, who responded quickly by launching a search and rescue operation for the elderly man.

While 100 people looked for him, he pleaded for someone to come and save him.

After nearly a week, Inpan was discovered.

He was hungry in a hut about 3 miles (5 kilometers) from his house.

‘I don’t have a phone, and I couldn’t find my way back,’ said the relieved senior Inpan.

‘So I just waited and hoped that someone would come across me.’

‘My brother told me that he was wanting mangoes so he went to collect them, but he did not return that night,’ claimed the old man’s sister, Sawat Techa, 52.

‘I sought assistance from our village head.’

The next morning, local cop Bandit Charoen organized a rescue crew.

A isolated cave deep in the forest was later noted by residents.

The team searched the area but were unable to locate the old man in the cave.

However, he was discovered in a shack not far away.

Before the team descended the mountain in a two-hour hike, volunteers did medical tests and placed Inpan on a stretcher.
