ABUTH Post Basic Nursing Admission Requirements
Those who wish to apply for any of the programmes must have the following:-
a) Post Basic Midwifery Programme:
It lasts eighteen (18) months and requires five credit passes in SSCE, WASC/NECO, or GCE, including English Language, Mathematics, and three (3) science subjects (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) at no more than two sittings.
In addition, the candidate must be a registered nurse (RN) with the Nigerian Nursing and Midwifery Council.
b) Post Basic Ophthalmic Nursing Programme:
Duration: One year Program and candidates wishing to enrol must be qualified Registered Nurses (RN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria with at least one year post qualification experience.
Additional Post Basic Diploma/Certificate/another relevant course could be an added advantage.
In addition to the aforementioned requirements, prospective candidates must have five credit passes in SSCE/WASC/NECO or GCE, including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology at no more than two sittings.
c) Post Basic Anaesthesia Programme:
It’s an Eighteen (18) months duration and eligible candidates must have five credit passes in SSCE, WASC/NECO or GCE which should include among others English Language, Mathematics and Three (3) Science Subjects (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) at not more than two sittings.
The candidate must also be a registered nurse (RN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
d) Post Basic Paediatric Nursing Programme:
Candidates who intend to apply must be registered nurses (RN) with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria and have at least one year post qualification/registration experience.
Additional Post Basic Diploma/Certificate/Other Relevant Courses may be advantageous.
In addition to the aforementioned requirements, prospective candidates must have five credit passes in SSCE WASC/NECO or GCE, including English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology at no more than two sittings.
Eligible candidates will be asked to take a written aptitude exam, which will be followed by an oral interview.
Candidates must bring the originals of all their certificates, licenses, proof of sponsorship, workshop attendance certificates, and so on to the selection interview.
How to Apply for ABUTH Post Basic Nursing Form

- Select Check Forms for Sale
- Select your favorite program.
- Click the Apply button.
- A transaction page will be displayed; at the bottom left of the page, click GENERATE RRR.
- On the page, a Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR) will be generated.
PLEASE NOTE: Making a payment online immediately activates your account. - (I) CLICK ON PAY VIA REMITA TO PAY ONLINE (Master/Visa/Internet Banking). (After paying, simply refresh your page and proceed to step-12.)
(II) To pay by bank, print your transaction slip and go to any Commercial bank of your choice (Make sure the RRR Number appears on the slip before printing and going to the bank) - Return to the portal http://apply.abuth.gov.ng after payment.
- Click LOGIN and enter the LOGIN ID and PASSWORD you created in step three.
- Fill in all of your information (Biodata, contact, Next of kin, Qualifications & passport Photo)
- Check the box at the bottom of your submit form details to confirm that you agree with the terms and conditions, then Finally Submit (You can always come back to edit your application before the final closing date).

- Documents Upload is not required, Simply Make Sure all your information are filled in correctly before you submit the application
