Hillary Gardee: Arrested suspect was supposed to get married today

During his tribute, Cele revealed that the 28-year-old arrested in connection with the murder of Hillary Gardee was supposed to get married on Saturday, the same day Gardee was laid to rest.

Cele also said there are three more people of interest in the murder case.

On Friday night, Mpumalanga Provincial Police Commissioner, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Manamela provided an update on the breakthrough made by police in connection with Hillary Gardee’s murder.

“We believe we have the right suspect and we are looking forward to making more arrests as the investigation continues. The suspect is facing murder charge and more charges could be added against him as the investigation proceeds.

“He is expected to appear before the Nelspruit Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 9 May 2022. Police are adamant more arrests could be made in connection with the case.”

GODRICH PAYS HIS FINAL RESPECT TO HILLARY GARDEE

In a seven-minute recorded video message that played out during the funeral, Godrich Gardee recounted all the horrific injuries the family noted on his daughter’s body.

“Little did we know you would die a tragic death. A death characterised by boot prints on your chest. A blunt object striking your head. Stab wounds on your breast and back. A gunshot on the back of your head and a bleeding nose. It never occurred to me and the family that we would have to identify you in a bush lying face down. With your hand clutching tightly on shrubs and grass fighting for your life.“
