This December, London will host the first installment of a new, easily accessible wine festival that will feature 200 vineyards from across the globe.
The first-ever London Wine Festival, which will take place from December 7–10 at the Truman Brewery in East London, is intended to give wineries a boost for Christmas 2024.
The focus of the festival, which will include British wines from Kent, Oxfordshire, Sussex, Essex, and other regions, will be on, according to the organisers, 15,000 attendees.
Vineyards from Georgia, Armenia, France, Spain, Italy, Austria, Germany, Belgium, South Africa, and California are among the international participants.
Founder Jonathan Geitner expressed his excitement about bringing the London Wine Festival to the public.
Our festival strives to be a dynamic, inclusive celebration of wine that captures the very core of what makes wine culture so pleasant.
In an industry that frequently caters to older drinkers, Geitner stated that the festival will seek to draw a younger audience, notably members of Gen Z and Millennials.
He explained that the goal is to highlight independent suppliers who are more reasonably priced.
“We’re doing what we’re doing because there’s a disconnect between demographics and wineries,” the speaker said.
Richard Knowles, a wine buyer, stated: “This is what London and the UK have been pleading for.
Something enjoyable, vibrant, and unselfishly supportive of wine.
Live music, professional discussions, tastings, and workshops are all promised during the event.
