As the Grammy-award-winning singer turns 32 today, July 2nd, 2023, a video circulating online captured the heartwarming moment when Burna Boy’s mother, accompanied by other individuals believed to be family members and fans, surprised him on stage.
Overwhelmed with joy, Burna Boy danced while his family sang a birthday song to celebrate him.
Burna Boy Clinches Best International Act at 2023 BET Awards
In another achievement, Burna Boy has emerged as the winner of the Best International Act category at the 2023 Black Entertainment Awards (BET).
The highly talented artist triumphed over strong contenders such as Ayra Starr, Central Cee, and Stormzy. Although Burna Boy was not physically present at the event, his victory in this prestigious category garnered resounding applause.
It has been an extraordinary couple of years for Burna Boy, marked by his immensely successful 2022 album ‘Love, Damini.’
This win adds to his previous BET Awards in the same category, which he received in 2019 and 2021.
The nominees in the Best International Act category also included notable artists like Aya Nakamura, Ayra Starr, Central Cee, Ella Mai, K.O, L7nnon, Stormzy, Tiakola, and Uncle Waffle.
