The Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) wants the role of the Special Task Force to Facilitate Business (PEMUDAH) to be strengthened at the state level.
In a statement today, FMM said it also welcomed the establishment of #MyMudah and the move to set up the unit at the federation’s national office and state branches as soon as possible.
The proposal for PEMUDAH to facilitate the management of state-specific regulatory issues was shared during a briefing session organised by FMM in collaboration with PEMUDAH and its secretariat, the Malaysia Productivity Corporation (MPC), following the government’s decision to expand the MyMudah initiative at all ministries, government agencies, and business associations.
To date, PEMUDAH and MPC have met with more than 20 ministries and business associations to facilitate the establishment of the #MyMudah unit at the respective organisations.
PEMUDAH co-chair Datuk Dr Andy Seo Kian Haw said the impact of the pandemic on businesses has pushed the task force to find solutions to regulatory issues and challenges, facilitate industry to ease and continue operations while enhancing the sector’s productivity and competitiveness.
FMM president Tan Sri Soh Thian Lai said the establishment of the #MyMudah unit at the association’s 10 branches will further enhance its role to facilitate solutions to regulatory problems in the manufacturing sector.
“It is important for PEMUDAH’s functions to also be enhanced at the state level and together with MPC’s regional offices, we will strengthen PEMUDAH’s role to boost the state’s productivity and ease of doing business,” he said.
