ABS Acting MD Okpalaeze Tasks Staff On Dedication, Higher Productivity

The new Acting Managing Director of Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, Mr. Gab Okpalaeze has implored staff of the establishment to be committed and very resourceful to ensure they achieve the best for the station.

Mr. Okpalaeze gave the advice during his first meeting with staff of the establishment who work in all ABS branches both at Awka, Onitsha, Nnewi and Enugw-Ukwu as the new acting Managing Director of the station.

Emmanuel Chigbata reports that the meeting was aimed at brainstorming on positive ways to accelerate the growth and development of the establishment and improve staff’s productivity.

Addressing the staff, Mr. Okpalaeze, thanked the management and staff for their commitment in the upliftment of ABS and charged them to recommit themselves towards marketing the ABS media brand globally.

The ABS boss, encouraged the workers to work collectively with  professionalism and assured that all challenges facing the establishment will be resolved when they dedicate themselves and create rich contents that would add value to the establishment.

Mr. Okpalaeze used the occasion to disclose some strategies to boost the finances of ABS like establishing event centres at Awka and Onitsha, curbing wastages and blocking all leakages.

He announced the setting up of thirteen member Internally Generated Revenue Think Tank Committee, just as he said ABS Millionaires Club are going to be inaugurated to encourage development partners of ABS in investing more in the station.

According to him, some twenty-member skilled advert canvassers will come on board to market ABS content across the country.

He said the cardinal policies of the new state governor, Professor Chukwuma Soludo have been studied adding that ABS will sell the golden ideas to the populace via education, entertainment and information.

Contributing, the Vice President Radio Television and Theater Arts workers Union South East Zone Prince Emeka Kalu, Vice Chairman of Nigerian Union of Journalist, Anambra State council who is also an ABS staff, Mrs. Ngozi Obileri, the Deputy Director of Programmes, Mr. Roy Ekwunife, and Abuchi Nwozor of News and Current Affairs Department called for discipline among staff, advising them to support the new administration in ABS to move the establishment higher.

The Head of Administration, Mrs. Tina Ekenta, and other directors were part of the meeting.
