Alan Carr has revealed that life after winning Celebrity Traitors wasn’t all smooth sailing.
The comedian admitted he sought the help of a mental health nurse once the BBC reality show wrapped up, describing the experience as unexpectedly stressful.
The show, which saw Alan emerge victorious, earned him £87,500 for a children’s neuroblastoma charity and was watched by around 15 million viewers.
Despite the fun and chaos of the series, Alan said the pressure of juggling work immediately afterward pushed him to seek support.
Taking a Step Back for Mental Health
Speaking to The Times, Alan explained that the BBC provides contestants access to a mental health nurse at the end of the show.
“I thought, I’ll go and have a look because it was all getting to be quite stressful,” he said.
The nurse questioned his work habits, asking, “Are you a workaholic? Why don’t you think you deserve a day off?”
Alan laughed as he recounted his reply: “I do feel like I deserve a day off but I’ve just been offered so many lovely things.”
He stressed that even amid the whirlwind of opportunities, he’s learning to take a moment for himself.
Celebrity Traitors Victory and Shocking Twists
Alan was selected as a Traitor alongside Jonathan Ross and Cat Burns and made it to the final alongside Cat, Joe Marler, Nick Mohammed, and David Olusoga.
Viewers watched in awe as Alan snagged the £87,500 prize, despite joking about being as terrible a Traitor as former contestant Linda Rands.
His win was made possible by a last-minute betrayal, with Nick and David turning on fellow Faithful Joe, leaving fans stunned.
The comedian described the whole ride as “quite the adventure” and admitted he’s proud of his ever-growing TV resume.
Turning Down Strictly Come Dancing
Outside of Celebrity Traitors, Alan and Amanda Holden were recently offered the chance to host Strictly Come Dancing after Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly stepped down.
The duo, who co-host their own BBC property series, were flattered but ultimately declined the offer.
During an appearance on Jessie and Lennie Ware’s Table Manners podcast, they confirmed, “No, we said no ages ago.”
The BBC is still searching for the perfect replacements for Claudia, 54, and Tess, 56, after the pair exited following the last series in December.
Viral Laughter on Amanda & Alan’s Greek Job
Alan’s comedic adventures continued in Greece, where a clip from the new series of Amanda & Alan’s Greek Job went viral.
While renovating a property with Amanda, he was persuaded to try a terrifying waterslide called The Black Hole.
Nervously, Alan asked the lifeguard to “pray for me” before launching down the slide in a large rubber ring.
Hilarity ensued as he struggled to stay balanced, ultimately flipping head over heels and emerging from the slide in a dramatic tumble.
Fans were quick to share the moment on TikTok and X, with comments like, “Alan Carr with the highlight of the year already?!” and “TV moment of the year.”
Alan, wrapped in a towel by Amanda, declared, “I’m not going on anymore. It flipped me up! I hit my face on the thing.”
Enjoying the Ride
Despite the tumbles and twists, Alan Carr insists he’s enjoying the ride, both professionally and personally.
From charity victories to viral TV moments, the comedian continues to embrace life’s chaos with humor, proving he knows how to balance work, fun, and self-care—even if it means leaning on a mental health nurse now and then.
