Former Kano State Governor and New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) leader, Rabiu Kwankwaso, opened his residence in Kano on Sunday to receive a delegation from Nasarawa Local Government.
The visit was a show of solidarity, with residents reaffirming their support for the political veteran despite recent turbulence in the state’s political landscape.
Kwankwaso shared his appreciation for the delegation in a post on X.com, noting that their visit reflected commitment and courage that went beyond personal interests.
Gratitude for Loyalty and Determination
Addressing the visiting residents, Kwankwaso expressed heartfelt thanks for their unwavering support.
“I reaffirmed my profound appreciation for their courage and determination.
Despite the recent trials that have tested the faith and fortitude of many, they have chosen to stand firmly with us—not for personal gain, but for the collective progress and well-being of our people,” he wrote.
His remarks highlighted the deep bond between the NNPP leader and grassroots supporters, who continue to uphold the values of the Kwankwasiyya movement, which has long defined his political philosophy across northern Nigeria.

The former governor emphasized that the visitors’ loyalty stems from a shared commitment to the ideals of the Kwankwasiyya movement.
Over the years, this political philosophy has built a devoted base that rallies behind Kwankwaso, prioritizing collective advancement and local development over individual ambition.
“The journey continues, and victory is assured by the grace of God and the will of the people,” Kwankwaso added, affirming the unshaken resolve of both his supporters and the party’s grassroots machinery.
Political Turbulence in Kano NNPP
The solidarity visit comes against the backdrop of significant shifts within the NNPP.
According to PUNCHONLINE, Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, along with 21 members of the State House of Assembly, eight members of the House of Representatives, and 44 local government chairmen, resigned from the party last Friday.
The mass exodus was reportedly due to unresolved leadership disputes and ongoing legal challenges within the party.
Despite these defections, Kwankwaso’s reception of Nasarawa LG residents underscores his continued influence and the loyalty of his core supporters, signaling that his political base remains active and engaged even in turbulent times.
