The Brazilians head to the fixture having lost in the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League over the weekend and face a tough encounter against a Cape Town City side which has only lost one league match in their last eight.

But Masandawana only need ONE point to clinch the league title for a record-extending fifth time in a row.

 

 

The Brazilians have dominated the league this season, having only lost twice in 26 games to sit on top of the log with 57 points, 12 points ahead of second-placed Royal AM.

Cape Town City currently occupy third position on the log with 40 points after 24 matches.

Mamelodi Sundowns and Cape Town City last played to a goalless draw

In head-to-head meetings, the sides have faced each other 25 times with Mamelodi Sundowns having won 12 of those encounters along with five draws and eight defeats.

In their last league encounter on 20 November 2021 in the Mother City, the match ended 0-0.
