Megyn Kelly found herself at the center of Saturday Night Live’s latest cold open after comments she made about Jeffrey Epstein drew sharp satire.
During the sketch, cast members lampooned the former Fox and NBC host for suggesting Epstein was interested in the “barely legal type” and implying he wasn’t a pedophile.
A White House Press Spoof Turns Into a Roast
The skit mimicked a White House press briefing, with an SNL actor portraying Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt fielding questions about President Donald Trump’s ties to Epstein.
As the sketch unfolded, the Trump impersonator jumped in, mocking Kelly’s remarks directly.
“I thought Megyn Kelly made a terrific point this week,” the impersonator quipped.
“She said Epstein’s not a pedophile. Terrific thing to just say out of nowhere.
Great job Megyn, we love Megyn, they should put her back on TV. Legalize Megyn!”
The audience erupted with laughter, signaling the biting tone of the segment.
Controversial Podcast Comments Spark Backlash
Kelly’s appearance in the SNL joke comes after she faced widespread criticism for her November 12 podcast comments.
On her show, she cited an anonymous source claiming Epstein wasn’t a pedophile, noting instead that he preferred “barely legal” young teens.
Kelly tried to clarify her remarks: “I’m definitely not trying to make an excuse for this—I’m just giving you facts.
He wasn’t into eight-year-olds, but liked very young teens who could pass for older.”
Questions About Epstein’s Crimes
The podcaster said her views were shaped by what she had “reliably been told” until Attorney General Pam Bondi revealed earlier this year that the FBI was reviewing tens of thousands of videos involving Epstein and minors.
That revelation prompted Kelly to rethink her stance, acknowledging the possibility that Epstein may have been a pedophile after all.
She added, “I don’t know whether it’s true. I don’t really trust Pam Bondi’s word on the Epstein matters anymore.
We have yet to see anyone say, ‘I was under 10 or under 14 when I first came into his orbit.’”
Distinguishing Ages and Public Reaction
While Epstein’s indictment alleged victims as young as 14, Kelly tried to differentiate between ages.
“There’s a difference between a 15-year-old and a five-year-old,” she said.
“It’s sick. Every time we talk about Epstein, it makes your skin crawl. The whole thing is just disgusting.”
Documents from Epstein’s Estate Surface
Kelly’s podcast comments coincided with the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform releasing 20,000 pages of documents from Epstein’s estate, shedding more light on the case.
The Daily Mail has reached out to Kelly’s representatives for comment, but no response has been confirmed.
