Jonathan Ross reveals Celebrity Traitors cast are still holding a grudge after intense finale on BBC One in the UK

Jonathan Ross has opened up about the aftermath of Celebrity Traitors, admitting that some of his co-stars are still struggling with their feelings from the show.

The 63-year-old chat show legend, who played a Traitor alongside comedian Alan Carr and singer Cat Burns, confessed on his podcast that the tension hasn’t fully gone away—even after the cameras stopped rolling.

Despite the series wrapping up and a reunion special on Uncloaked, where the cast watched Alan take the £87,000 prize from Faithfuls Nick Mohammed and David Olusoga, the emotional fallout lingers.

Jonathan explained that some players are still processing the lies and betrayals that were central to the game.

The Traitor Game Was Harder Than It Looked

Jonathan reflected on how challenging it was to pretend to be Faithful while secretly sabotaging others.

“I’ve gone on record saying I struggled doing it. It was hard,” he said on Reel Talk, joined by his daughter Honey.

He admitted that while the game’s deception was part of the format, some contestants have taken the drama personally.

“It’s a bit weird because there are a couple of people who still seem to struggle with accepting that it was just a game,” he explained.

He added that the reactions weren’t just about the show itself—they were compounded by personal fears and past experiences.

Nick Mohammed’s Extreme Reaction

Nick Mohammed, best known for Ted Lasso, revealed he had a far more dramatic response to the finale than what viewers saw on BBC One.

The actor, 45, admitted he swore profusely and even collapsed to the floor in shock after Alan, 49, was revealed as a Traitor.

“There was a lot more they edited out. I was effing and blinding, I was so shocked,” Nick told The Times.

He said he felt helpless watching Alan betray him and David Olusoga at the very last moment, but also recognized the entertainment value: “Oh my God, this is going to be great television.”

Nick also explained why he didn’t suspect Alan at first.

Despite Alan’s early betrayal of Paloma Faith, Nick decided to trust him until the final moment, believing there was no point voting out another Faithful.

Joe Marler Opens Up on Heartbreak

Rugby star Joe Marler, 35, also spoke about the emotional toll of the finale.

He had correctly guessed that Alan and Cat Burns were the remaining Traitors but failed to convince Nick and David, leading to his last-minute banishment.

“Although in that moment, I was heartbroken,” Joe admitted on Saturday Kitchen.

He had made a pact to vote against David while secretly planning to expose the Traitors, but the plan backfired.

Despite the betrayal, Joe confirmed that he and Nick have since made up, highlighting that friendships endured even under intense pressure.

Alan Carr and Cat Burns Take the Crown

In a twist that shocked viewers, Alan Carr emerged as the winning Traitor, successfully deceiving Nick and David to claim the £87,500 prize.

Alan admitted that Cat’s elimination complicated his path to victory, forcing him to play solo for the final stretch.

The finale kept 11 million viewers glued to their screens, with every accusation, lie, and double-cross amplifying the suspense.

While the series was ruthless in its strategy, it also showed how bonds and rivalries can be tested under extreme circumstances.

Reality TV Drama or Life Lessons?

Both Jonathan Ross and the cast have emphasized that the intensity of the show doesn’t define who they are outside the castle.

The experience was a “hothouse” environment, designed to provoke reactions, test friendships, and entertain viewers.

Nick Mohammed has confirmed he has no plans to return to reality TV, preferring to focus on acting, while Jonathan and Joe have reflected on the emotional complexity of the game.

For fans, Celebrity Traitors offered a masterclass in strategy, tension, and human psychology.
