Donald Trump attacks Fox News over Jessica Tarlov’s poll comments during The Five broadcast in New York

Donald Trump isn’t holding back — again.

The former president reignited his feud with Fox News this week, this time focusing his fire on liberal panelist Jessica Tarlov.

In a rant posted on Truth Social Friday, Trump made it clear he’s fed up with her commentary, especially when it comes to polling numbers.

His outburst followed Tarlov’s appearance on The Five, where she discussed new polls showing Trump trailing with independent voters.

That alone was enough to get him posting.

“She’s a Disgrace”: Trump Blasts Tarlov’s Voice, Views, and Presence

In his post, Trump called Tarlov a “failed TV personality” and accused her of “soiling” the Fox News panel show.

He didn’t stop there — he tore into her voice, her mannerisms, and what he claimed were repeated lies about his polling performance.

He insisted that his numbers were actually great, citing the Rasmussen poll at 56%, Insider Advantage at 54%, and others claiming up to 68% support.

Trump went on to claim he recently won all seven swing states and the popular vote, despite no such election having taken place since 2020.

Trump Doubles Down on MAGA’s Frustration With Fox

While praising hosts Jesse Watters and Greg Gutfeld, Trump said even they don’t always have the latest polling to defend him.

That, he claimed, leaves MAGA supporters fuming every time Tarlov is on-air.

“Nobody can stand Tarlov,” he wrote. “She lies over and over again… Watch Fox’s ratings go down by keeping her on the show.”

He even bizarrely claimed that “zero illegal aliens” entered the U.S. during his presidency last month — while accusing President Biden of allowing in 62,000, including individuals from prisons and gangs.

What Tarlov Actually Said on the Show

Tarlov’s segment wasn’t a personal attack — she was reading out the latest Fox polling data.

While she acknowledged that Democrats are far from popular, she said that “directionally”, voters seemed to be moving away from Trump on key issues like immigration and inflation.

She even admitted that if the election were held today, Trump might still win — but stressed that polls don’t lie about voter sentiment.

That clearly didn’t sit well with Trump.

Trump Rages at Fox Over Immigration Poll Numbers

This isn’t the first time Trump’s gone off about Fox News’ polling.

Just one day earlier, he slammed a Fox poll that showed Americans split on his immigration policies.

According to the survey, 53% approved of his handling of the border — a number Trump took issue with, claiming that “no one came in” under his watch last month.

He wrote, “The border is perfect, nobody was able to come in!” — a claim unsupported by immigration data.

He then fumed that Fox still uses the same “discredited pollster” despite years of what he called inaccurate results.

Fox Poll Reveals Mixed Reviews on Trump’s Presidency

The same Fox News poll gave Trump a 46% overall approval rating, with 54% disapproving of his leadership.

His best marks were on border security, but even there, he only slightly cleared 50%.

On inflation, Trump did worst — 64% disapproved of how he’s handled the issue, and only 34% approved.

These numbers likely fueled his frustration with both the network and Tarlov’s on-air commentary.

Trump Turns His Fire on Jerome Powell and the Fed

Trump didn’t stop with Fox or Tarlov. In the same online tirade, he also went after Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell, calling him “Too Late Jerome” and blaming him for not cutting interest rates like other countries have.

“Europe has had 10 cuts. We’ve had none,” Trump wrote, adding that Powell is “one of the dumbest” and most destructive people in government.

He said lowering interest rates would save billions on what he called Biden’s short-term debt and accused Powell of costing the country dearly.

Iran Conflict and Military Tensions Linger in the Background

All of this came amid growing international tension.

The U.S. had not yet joined Israel in its ongoing conflict with Iran, though The Wall Street Journal reported that Trump had approved an attack plan — but hadn’t yet given the final order.

Still, Trump quickly shut down any speculation on that front too, writing: “The Wall Street Journal has no idea what my thoughts are concerning Iran!”

A Familiar Pattern: Grievances, Ratings, and Blame

Once again, Trump’s pattern is clear: lash out at critical coverage, discredit polls, and attack institutions that he feels undercut his image.

Whether it’s Fox News, the Fed, or cable panelists, if the narrative doesn’t match his own version of events, he pushes back — loudly and publicly.

What remains to be seen is whether this growing divide with Fox News — once his most reliable media ally — could have deeper consequences heading into the 2024 race.
