It’s shaping up to be a big summer transfer window—especially if your club needs goals.
With many of Europe’s elite clubs scrambling for a top-class striker, one name stands out: Serhou Guirassy.
The Borussia Dortmund forward has been on a tear this season, and now, for just £60 million, some of the Premier League’s biggest teams could snap him up.
Guirassy: Second Only to Kane in the Bundesliga
While Harry Kane has been grabbing headlines with his goal haul at Bayern Munich, Guirassy hasn’t been far behind.
The 29-year-old Guinean striker has quietly racked up an incredible 33 goals in 43 matches for Dortmund this season—putting him among the top scorers in Europe.
Five Premier League Giants Eyeing a Bargain
According to Bild in Germany, Guirassy’s contract includes a £60 million release clause.
That means any club willing to meet that price can start negotiating, and it just so happens that five of England’s “Big Six”—Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal, and Chelsea—are reportedly circling.
Add Real Madrid and Barcelona to the mix, and it’s clear he’s a man in demand.
From Stuttgart Star to Dortmund Sensation
Guirassy joined Borussia Dortmund just last summer, making the move from Stuttgart after an astonishing 30 goals in 30 games.
At just £15 million, he was a steal. Now, after continuing that same elite form, his market value has skyrocketed.
His current deal runs until 2028, but that release clause leaves Dortmund vulnerable to losing him after just one year.
Dortmund Hopeful, But Aware of the Risk
Despite the growing speculation, Dortmund’s leadership remains hopeful.
Managing director Lars Ricken expressed confidence in Guirassy’s loyalty, pointing out that the player made it clear he wanted to be part of Dortmund’s project.
But in a transfer market where elite strikers are few and far between, they know Premier League money could still change everything.
A Striker Market That’s Getting Complicated
Clubs looking for a reliable No. 9 are facing a tricky summer.
Options like Viktor Gyokeres, Alexander Isak, Victor Osimhen, and Benjamin Sesko are all on the radar, but concerns about fit, price tags, and availability are complicating matters.
Compared to those alternatives, Guirassy—proven, clinical, and relatively affordable—suddenly looks like a very smart option.
Manchester United’s Missed Chance?
Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Guirassy’s name has been linked to the Premier League.
Back in late 2023, Manchester United were reportedly close to signing him, but he ultimately turned down their approach—reportedly favoring a potential move to Tottenham instead.
At the time, Erik ten Hag was searching for support up front, as big-money signing Rasmus Hojlund had yet to open his domestic account.
United’s Search for a Striker Continues
Fast-forward to now, and United are still struggling to find a consistent goal scorer.
Despite the recent arrival of Joshua Zirkzee, the goals haven’t flowed.
With Guirassy still not on United’s most recent four-man shortlist—reportedly made up of Gyokeres, Osimhen, Sesko, and Frankfurt’s Hugo Ekitike—it remains to be seen if the Red Devils will revisit their interest before the window shuts.
