Mohamed Salah Takes Selfie with Fans After Scoring 28th Goal in Liverpool’s Dominant 5-1 Victory Over Tottenham at Anfield

Mohamed Salah made a memorable mark in Liverpool’s 5-1 victory over Tottenham, not just with his 28th goal of the season but also with an iconic celebration that had fans buzzing.

The Egyptian forward celebrated by running to the crowd, grabbing a phone, and taking a selfie mid-game.

An Unpredictable Start to the Title Decider

Liverpool needed just one point to secure the Premier League title at Anfield on Sunday.

However, the match didn’t start as planned.

Tottenham took the lead in the 12th minute thanks to Dominic Solanke, throwing a bit of a curveball into the title celebrations.

But it wasn’t long before the Reds bounced back, leveling the score just four minutes later with a stunning strike from Luis Diaz.

A Show of Firepower

Liverpool’s response was swift and powerful. Goals from Alexis Mac Allister and Cody Gakpo helped put Liverpool in control, but Salah wasn’t done yet.

He was determined to make his mark and did so in style, blasting a powerful shot into the bottom corner just after the hour mark.

As usual, his teammates rushed to congratulate him, and Salah took a moment to perform his sujood celebration, paying tribute to his faith and his team.

Selfie with the Fans: A Unique Celebration

After scoring, Salah did something unexpected: he made his way to the crowd, grabbed a phone, and took a selfie. The image, captured mid-match, quickly went viral.

Sky Sports co-commentator Gary Neville, recognizing the moment’s significance, joked, “That picture will be worth a few quid.”

The Road to Victory and Title Glory

The match was sealed when Tottenham’s Destiny Udogie accidentally scored an own goal, further cementing Liverpool’s 5-1 victory and their Premier League title win.

For Salah, the moment was about more than just his individual achievement.

Salah Reflects on a Special Title Win at Anfield

In a post-match interview with BBC, Salah explained the thought process behind his selfie celebration.

“At the beginning of the season, I always took selfies with the players. I had to think of something special.

I thought a bit about the idea and it was fine,” he shared.

He went on to express how significant the victory was for him. “Incredible.

It’s special to win it at Anfield—it’s very difficult to describe.

Everyone wanted Palace to finish it [at Arsenal], but I know what Anfield is like, so I’m glad we did it here.”

Reflecting on the emotional difference between this title win and the one in 2020, Salah added, “It’s completely different [to the title in 2020].

The feeling is unbelievable. The first time was lockdown and the pandemic, but to be here five years later is incredible.”

For Salah, scoring was secondary. “It doesn’t matter [that I scored].

To win it at Anfield is incredible,” he concluded, clearly overjoyed by the magnitude of the achievement.
