Kaizer Chiefs have made it clear that they’re aiming high in the transfer market, with interest in some of Mamelodi Sundowns’ top players.
The club is reportedly planning moves for a couple of key stars, including a high-profile R24-million player from Sundowns.
Kaizer Chiefs Eyeing Neo Maema for a Big Move
One of the players on Chiefs’ radar is Neo Maema, a standout star at Sundowns.
Reports suggest that Chiefs have been tracking Maema’s progress for some time and are now ready to make an offer.
With Sundowns considering downsizing their squad at the end of the season, Amakhosi could have the opportunity to bring Maema to Naturena if the club decides to part ways with him.
An insider revealed, “Chiefs are believed to be pursuing Neo Maema and could make their move if Sundowns lets him go in the upcoming transfer window.” This gives Chiefs a decent chance to secure the talented midfielder’s signature, but Maema isn’t the only Sundowns player on their radar.
Terrence Mashego Also a Target for Kaizer Chiefs
Another Sundowns player being linked to Kaizer Chiefs is Terrence Mashego.
Chiefs were reportedly interested in signing Mashego before the January transfer window closed, and the club may revisit this move depending on what decision Sundowns makes about his future.
An insider told SoccerLaduma, “There was interest and an inquiry from Kaizer Chiefs just before the end of the January transfer window, and there’s a possibility of him moving either to Chiefs or another club in the next transfer window.
That will depend on what Sundowns decides in the next few weeks regarding his future at the club.”
Sundowns is currently evaluating Mashego’s future, with a decision expected soon, which could allow Chiefs to make a move if the player becomes available.
