Youth Empowerment Fund Offers Financial Support to Young People Across Europe and Beyond to Tackle Global Challenges

The Youth Empowerment Fund (YEF) is a dynamic collaboration between the European Union (EU) and the Global Youth Mobilization (GYM), which is backed by the Big Six Youth Organizations (Big Six).

This initiative is designed to provide financial support directly to youth-led projects that focus on advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the local level.

The fund aims to create opportunities for young people, especially those from under-represented backgrounds, by empowering them to lead meaningful change in their communities.

Empowering Under-Represented Youth Communities

One of the central goals of the Youth Empowerment Fund is to specifically support young people from marginalized communities.

These may include individuals who face challenges due to their socio-economic status, gender, disability, or those who are impacted by issues like climate change.

Through funding youth-led solutions, the initiative aims to help communities navigate and overcome these vulnerabilities, promoting inclusivity and equality at every level.

Funding Benefits

Access to Financial Support

The Youth Empowerment Fund offers financial assistance tailored to different types of applicants.

Young individuals or informal groups can apply for micro-grants ranging from 500 to 1500 EUR to fund their community projects.

Meanwhile, registered youth-led organizations can apply for larger grants of up to 5000 EUR.

This flexible approach makes it possible for a wide range of youth-driven initiatives to receive much-needed support.

Focus on Vulnerable Groups

A major focus of the fund is on initiatives that support under-represented and vulnerable communities.

Whether it’s young people facing challenges due to climate change, disabilities, gender inequality, or other marginalizing factors, the fund prioritizes projects that directly address these issues.

The goal is to level the playing field by providing financial resources to those who need it most.
