A group of scientists investigating the mysterious “alien mummies” discovered in Peru has shared new findings they believe prove the specimens are authentic.
These mummified bodies were first uncovered in the Nazca Desert by journalist and ufologist Jaime Maussan, sparking years of research and speculation.
Now, researchers have uncovered more details about one particular specimen, named Antonio, that they say show it is “100 percent real.”
Groundbreaking Discovery in Antonio’s Skull
Dr. José Zalce, a former director of the Mexican Navy Medical Department, and his team made a significant discovery while investigating the skull of Antonio.
Using a small camera to explore the skull’s cavities, they found well-preserved anatomical features, including dried tissue and structures that closely resemble those of a human.
Dr. Zalce explained that the second and third molars found in the specimen’s mouth were practically identical to human teeth, further strengthening their claim of its authenticity.
The team found no major differences in bone structure, eye sockets, or the overall shape of the skull, all of which resemble a human’s.
After analyzing the specimen, they concluded that there were no signs of artificial materials or modifications to the body, confirming Antonio’s status as a genuine corpse.
Unraveling the Mystery of the Mummies
The mystery surrounding these mummies began in 2017 when Maussan and a team of paranormal researchers claimed they had discovered strange mummified humanoids with three fingers and elongated skulls.
These bodies were reportedly found covered in a white powder, which was believed to have been used to preserve the remains.
In 2024, these “alien mummies” were even displayed in Mexico’s Congress, where Maussan presented them as evidence of extraterrestrial life.
During these presentations, several doctors endorsed the claim that the mummies were once living beings.
However, other scientists and forensic experts have raised doubts.
Forensic archaeologist Flavio Estrada, who also studied the specimens, dismissed the idea of extraterrestrial origins, calling the mummies “dolls” made from animal bones and modern synthetic glue.
He further argued that these creations were not from ancient times and certainly not from another planet.
Contrasting Opinions and Conflicting Findings
Despite Estrada’s skepticism, there are still strong believers in the mummies’ authenticity.
Joshua McDowell, a former prosecutor turned defense attorney who has examined one of the mummies, disagrees with Estrada’s findings.
He believes the bodies studied by Estrada are different from the specimens his team has analyzed, dismissing the idea that they are mere “folk dolls.”
Antonio, one of the most well-known specimens, was revealed to the public in December 2024.
Researchers focused on Antonio due to its recent discovery.
The specimen, which measures about 5.5 to 5.7 feet tall and is estimated to be around 1,500 years old, shows signs of wear in its teeth and a relatively youthful developmental stage.
Notably, Antonio’s teeth showed signs of wear and even contained amalgam fillings, a type of dental filling made from metals like mercury and silver, which suggests it may have been treated or cared for in some way.
Human-Like Anatomy with Some Notable Differences
The body of Antonio has sparked interest because of its remarkable similarities to human anatomy, with some notable differences.
Dr. Zalce pointed out that the bones, organs, and overall structure of Antonio are strikingly similar to those of modern humans, with the only significant differences being the specimen’s three fingers, which have more joints than human fingers, and its overall bone robustness.
Dr. David Ruiz Vela, a former president of Peru’s Medical Association, was the first to examine Antonio’s body and noted that it contained human-like organs, including a visible brain structure.
He also identified a stab wound in Antonio’s chest, which caused broken ribs and perforated organs.
Keeping the Location a Secret
Jois Mantilla, a journalist who has dedicated herself to proving the authenticity of these mummies, has hinted that more discoveries will be made in 2025.
She has suggested that the true location where the bodies were recovered is being kept a secret to protect the site from looters.
This location remains hidden from the public to ensure that the research can continue without interference.
As the investigation continues, both scientists and skeptics alike are eager to see what new evidence will be uncovered in the coming months.
While some argue that the mummies are hoaxes, others believe they could be the key to uncovering a long-lost piece of history—one that could change our understanding of human existence and possibly even extraterrestrial life.
