In a shocking and tragic turn of events at a traditional bull-running event in Spain, a 64-year-old man suffered serious injuries after being gored by a bull.

The annual event, which typically draws large crowds, became the scene of chaos as the bull charged toward the man at high speed.

The Moment of the Attack

The bull had just been released from its pen when it swiftly zeroed in on the man, who was standing near a metal barrier.

Before he could react, the animal lifted him with its horns, suspending him in the air for several seconds.

The horrific sight left onlookers stunned as the bull eventually threw the man to the ground.

Immediate Medical Response

Identified only by his initials, F.M.N., the victim sustained severe injuries, including entry and exit wounds in his groin area.

Medical teams present at the event, along with two doctors who happened to be spectators, rushed to provide first aid.

He was conscious when transported to a hospital in Villarreal, where he is expected to undergo surgery, according to local reports.

A Series of Recent Fatalities

This incident occurred on Monday in La Vall d’Uixó, northeast of Valencia, during the town’s traditional bull-running festivities.

It comes after a 57-year-old man died in May, seven weeks after being gored in a similar event in the same town.

Additionally, earlier this month, a 20-year-old man was fatally injured during a bull-running festival in El Casar, Castilla-La Mancha, when a bull’s horn punctured his lung.

The Tradition of Bull Running

Bull running is a deeply rooted tradition in Spain, especially during summer festivals.

Participants run ahead of bulls released onto closed-off streets, often facing significant danger.

Though the event is meant to be thrilling, incidents like these highlight the risks involved.

Despite these recent tragedies, the tradition continues, raising ongoing debates about the safety and ethics of bull-running events.
