Gunmen kidnap Bayelsa Commissioner

Hon. Otokito Federal Oparmiola, the Bayelsa State Commissioner for Trade, Industry, and Investment, has been kidnapped by gunmen suspected of being kidnappers.

Armed men kidnapped Otokito from his home in Otuokpoti, Ogbia Local Government Area, on Thursday night, January 20th.

According to the Daily Trust, the gunmen stormed the neighborhood around 11 p.m. and shot sporadically to frighten residents away.

They then proceeded to the commissioner’s residence and whisked him away to an unknown destination.
