SCSN Voices Disappointment with APC’s Muslim-Muslim Ticket
The Supreme Council for Sharia in Nigeria (SCSN) expressed deep regret over the perceived lack of positive change brought about by the All Progressives Congress (APC) Muslim-Muslim ticket it had staunchly supported.
Sheikh AbdurRasheed Hadiyyatullah, the President of SCSN, conveyed these sentiments during a National Conference in Abuja.
President’s Unfulfilled Promises and Economic Downturn
In a candid interview with journalists, Sheikh Hadiyyatullah highlighted the disappointment felt by the council and the general public, asserting that despite the overwhelming support during the elections, the president has failed to deliver on his promises.
He painted a grim picture of the current state of Nigeria, citing skyrocketing prices, scarcity of Naira, and escalating unemployment as pressing issues.
Escalating Hardships and Economic Challenges
Expressing concern over the deteriorating economic conditions, Sheikh Hadiyyatullah remarked, “The Nigeria of today is too bad.
What we are buying at N200 before is N2000 now.” He emphasized the widespread dissatisfaction among Nigerians, asserting that the populace is not reaping the benefits of the new government.
The Sheikh refrained from naming specific individuals but alleged that some ministers are engaged in siphoning and looting the treasury.
Seven Months of Struggle and Lack of Progress
Sheikh Hadiyyatullah lamented the challenging seven months since the government came to power, asserting that instead of progress, triumph, and success, the nation is grappling with hardships and a lack of tangible improvements.
He underscored the initial support the SCSN provided to the Muslim-Muslim ticket in the hope of fostering a government that would bring about positive change.
Call for Accountability and Urgent Action
The SCSN President called attention to the need for accountability and urgent measures to address the perceived shortcomings of the current administration.
The council, which played a significant role in supporting the Muslim-Muslim ticket’s success, now voices concerns about the lack of progress and the adverse impact on the lives of Nigerians.
