Kaizer Chiefs face AmaZulu in Carling Knockout Cup, seeking to end trophyless run

Kaizer Chiefs are in their eighth season without a trophy, but the Carling Knockout Cup presents them with another opportunity to end their drought.

Amakhosi will face AmaZulu in the first round of the competition on Saturday evening.

Chiefs coach Molefi Ntseki is aware that AmaZulu will be more organized and aggressive than they were when Chiefs beat them 3-0 in August.

However, Ntseki believes that Chiefs have a chance to win the trophy if they can avoid SuperSport United and Orlando Pirates until the final.

With Mamelodi Sundowns eliminated from the competition, Chiefs’ path to the final is slightly easier. If they can overcome AmaZulu, they will have a good chance of lifting the trophy in December.
