KP Nuts factory workers agree to postpone strike

Workers at a factory that produces KP Nuts have decided to postpone their planned strike action due to a new pay offer.

The trade union Unite had previously announced that its members at the Rotherham site in South Yorkshire would initiate a one-week strike on Tuesday, followed by two more weeks of strikes starting on September 18 if the pay dispute remained unresolved.

Following a meeting with KP Snacks management on Monday, the strike action will be put on hold while workers vote on the revised pay offer presented by the company, according to Unite. Before the latest pay offer, Unite’s general secretary, Sharon Graham, emphasized that the workers were seeking a fair pay deal, as they felt their wages were insufficient compared to the company’s significant profits.

It’s worth noting that the workers had previously rejected an 8% pay offer.
