Francis Zimbo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) defeated John Hassan of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the postponed chairmanship election in Zango Kataf LGA of Kaduna State, Northern Nigeria, on Saturday.
Zimbo received 28,771 votes to overcome Hassan’s 19,509 votes, according to the returning officer, Nuhu Garba, who announced the results on Sunday.
“Mr. Francis Zimbo of the PDP, having satisfied the conditions of the law and received the largest number of votes, is hereby proclaimed the election winner and returned elected,” Garba added.
