39-year-old Idrees Jaff found guilty of two counts of rape in Norwich following horrific assault in Chapelfield Gardens

A 39-year-old man from Norwich is set to face prison time after being found guilty of raping another man in a city park.

The disturbing incident took place late at night in Chapelfield Gardens, located in the heart of Norwich.

Details of the Crime

On the evening of June 10 last year, at around 11 PM, Idrees Jaff carried out the attack near the bandstand in the park.

The victim, who is an adult but cannot be named for legal reasons, was targeted in this horrifying assault.

Jaff was arrested just a week later in connection with the crime.

Legal Proceedings and Conviction

Jaff, who denied the charges, was convicted by a jury at King’s Lynn Crown Court on December 20, 2024.

He was found guilty of two counts of rape, despite his not guilty plea.

The case has since been widely reported, with the victim’s identity remaining protected under legal guidelines.

The court has scheduled Jaff’s sentencing for February 19, where the convicted man will learn his punishment for the crimes committed.
