While “taking a selfie” in front of his family, a 22-year-old student was fatally cut off by a helicopter tail rotor.

The British student Jack Fenton, 22, was struck in the head by the helicopter’s tail blade as he exited the vehicle in Athens, according to a story by the Mirror.

According to reports, at the time of the incident, he and three friends were travelling back after a quick excursion to Mykonos.

The British man had been severed from his head by the helicopter’s rotating blades, a Greek police source told the Mirror.

“The blades were still in motion when he disembarked and our investigation has focused on possible negligence. The rota should have been at a standstill when the young man left the aircraft. “

A police officer informed the media that the public prosecutor has now received the case file. The investigation has been finished.

According to the report, three people, including the pilot of the helicopter, were detained during the course of the night and are being charged with involuntary manslaughter.

The pilot is thought to have radioed his coworker on another helicopter, which was carrying the man’s parents, to sound the alarm.

In order to spare his parents the horrifying sight of their son’s body, they were able to direct them to another airstrip in Spata.

Over the past two years, there has been an upsurge in the incidence of fatal selfie accidents, with the majority of victims dying from falls or drownings while attempting to take the perfect selfie.
