2023: PDP BoT Chairman calls for  decorum from presidential aspirants

The Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees (BoT), Senator Walid Jibrin, has urged all its presidential aspirants to maintain decorum over their presidential aspirations.

His appeal was because of the recent proxy war among presidential aspirants.

The latest was the attack by Rivers State Governor Nyesome Wike on the leader of the technical committee for Atiku Abubakar’s Presidential Campaign, Raymond Dokpesi, calling him a mole working for APC.

Sen.

Jibrin, on Friday in Ilorin during the turbaning ceremony of former National Chairman of the PDP, Alhaji Abubakar Kawu Baraje as the Tafida of Ilorin by the Emir, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, said the party would come out with its position on the matter soon.

“I want to urge all our presidential aspirants to be calm about their presidential aspirations.

To us, the country comes first, and we will soon come out with our position on the presidential contest for all our aspirants; this is very important.

And another vital thing is that zoning will go to any party of the country,” the senator added.

On the electoral act, the BoT chairman said, “President Muhammadu Buhari will assent to it at the right time.

Other dignitaries at the event, which was held at the forecourts of the Emir’s palace, were former Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, Director General, National Institute of Legislative Studies, Professor Suleiman Abubakar, Grand Mufti of Ilorin, Sheikh Suleiman Onikijipa, the billionaire oil magnate, Hajia Muinat Shagaya, Deputy Governor of Sokoto State, Manir Muhammed and the PDP chairman, Alhaji Bello Aliyu Goronyo among others.
