Dr. Ngige who made the declaration today Tuesday 19th April at St Mary’s Catholic church field Alor in Idemili South of Anambra State, his Country home, is seeking the ticket on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The minister who also represented Anambra Central at the senate, said he has experience in all the three arms of government and will hit the ground running from day one if elected president.
Although the APC is yet to conduct its primaries to pick its presidential candidate, Senator Ngige said he was sure of picking the ticket ahead of other candidates.
He said the APC did not fail as many are accusing it of, adding that a party that has many infrastructure projects to its credit, including the Second Niger Bridge and the Onitsha-Owerri Road, among others, cannot be said to have failed.
According to him, president Muhammadu Buhari has worked with the resources available to him and that despite the world economic challenges brought about by economic melt down and Covid-19 pandemic, the president has done his best.
“Some people will say this administration has failed, a government that built Enugu-Onitsha Expressway, Enugu-Porthacourt Expressway, restored Nigeria’s aviation industry, built railways and built many other landmark projects across the country cannot be called a failure. Buhari performed according to the resources available to him,” he said
Ngige said that if given the opportunity to lead, he would be president Nigerians would be proud of.
He further maintained that as a minister, he resolved 1,383 labour disputes and took labour to international arena.
The minister said he did well as governor of Anambra State and as senator, Anambra Central Senatorial District and added, “I am doing well as a minister.”
Speaking earlier the Leader National Forum For South East Presidency of Igbo Extraction Dr Partrick Enumeku contended that since 1999 that all other geopolitical zones have produced President with the exception of the South East calling for equity, justice, fairness
