16-year-old arrested after 13-year-old girl’sexually raped in woods’

A 13-year-old girl was’sexually raped while wandering through a woods’ in Sheffield, according to police.

On Monday, between 6.15pm and 6.45pm, the victim was strolling in the Chapeltown neighborhood of the city when the event occurred.

According to authorities, she was approached and sexually assaulted by a guy who then departed the area on foot.

A 16-year-old kid known to the victim was detained on suspicion of raping a girl aged 16 or younger. He is still being held by police at this moment.

Specially trained cops are assisting the victim and her family.

‘Officers investigating a severe sexual assault in Sheffield on Monday have made an arrest,’ said a spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Police.

‘A 16-year-old Sheffield man known to the victim has been detained on suspicion of rape of a girl aged 16 or under and is being held in police custody at this time.’
