In a devastating incident on Monday afternoon, a 15-year-old boy has been charged with the murder of fellow student Harvey Willgoose, who tragically lost his life after a stabbing at All Saints Catholic High School in Sheffield.

The teenager, whose identity cannot be revealed due to his age, also faces charges of possession of a bladed article and affray.

He was remanded into youth detention and is due to appear in court again tomorrow.

The Tragic Incident Unfolds at School

Emergency services rushed to the scene at around 12:17 pm on February 3, 2025, after receiving reports of a stabbing.

Students at the school, who were enjoying their lunch break, were sent into a state of panic when they heard a loud scuffle followed by screams.

Many of them ran in fear as chaos engulfed the school courtyard.

Despite urgent efforts to save Harvey, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead later that afternoon, just before 4 pm.

A Heartbroken Family Remembers Harvey Willgoose

Harvey’s family has shared their grief with the world, issuing a poignant statement through South Yorkshire Police.

In it, they described their beloved son, brother, and friend as “a caring, loving, and funny young man” whose tragic loss has shattered their lives.

His mother, Caroline Willgoose, said their world would “never be the same again” as they mourn the loss of a young life cut far too short.

The Legal Proceedings Begin

District Judge Tim Spruce addressed the teenager, confirming the charges against him.

He acknowledged the seriousness of the allegations, which involved the use of a hunting knife on school grounds.

As the investigation continues, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has authorized the charges, reminding everyone involved of the importance of ensuring the youth receives a fair trial.

The first court hearing will take place today at Sheffield Youth Court.
