With blockbuster films, packed schedules, and globe-trotting shoots on their plates, Zendaya and Tom Holland are pressing the brakes on their wedding plans—for now.
According to longtime friend and stylist Law Roach, the ultra-private couple hasn’t even begun the process.
Speaking to E! News, the 47-year-old “image architect” shared, “The process hasn’t even started yet.
Zendaya is working on so many movies… so we have time. A lot of time.”
A Star Couple Swamped with Hollywood Commitments
And Law Roach isn’t exaggerating. The couple has a stacked calendar.
They’re both set to co-star in Destin Daniel Cretton’s new superhero film Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and they’ll also appear together in Christopher Nolan’s ambitious adaptation of Homer’s The Odyssey.
Zendaya, now 28, is juggling multiple high-profile projects. S
he’s deep into filming Dune: Part Three with Denis Villeneuve, starring in Kristoffer Borgli’s romantic dramedy The Drama, voicing a character in Shrek 5, and returning for the third season of Euphoria.
She’s also signed on to produce and star in Be My Baby, a biopic of singer Ronnie Spector, helmed by Barry Jenkins and based on Spector’s memoir.
Tom’s Film Plate Is Just as Full
Tom Holland, 29, is just as busy. He’s starring alongside Austin Butler in American Speed, a race car drama for Amazon MGM Studios.
The film tells the story of the Whittington Brothers, and Holland’s taken on one of the lead roles.
Despite their packed schedules, Law Roach hinted that the wedding could still happen next year, saying, “I’m really excited because I know that they really love each other and they have for a really long time.”
An Engagement That Quietly Turned Heads
Zendaya first sparked engagement rumors back in January at the Golden Globes when she was seen wearing a sparkly diamond ring designed by Jessica McCormack, reportedly valued at $500,000.
Just a day later, TMZ revealed that Tom had proposed “between Christmas and New Year’s Eve” at Zendaya’s family home in Oakland, California.
The proposal was described as romantic and low-key, not flashy or over-the-top.
Tom’s Vision of the Future: No Spotlight, Just Family
When asked about his future plans, Holland gave a surprisingly down-to-earth answer.
In an interview with Men’s Health, he said, “When I have kids, you will not see me in movies anymore.
[It’ll just be] golf and dad. And I will just disappear off the face of the earth.”
Clearly, family matters to the British star—and the wedding delay doesn’t mean commitment is lacking.
A Romance That Started in the Spider-Verse
Zendaya and Tom’s romance has been simmering since at least 2017 when they promoted Spider-Man: Homecoming together.
But it wasn’t until 2021 that they publicly confirmed the relationship, after being spotted sharing a kiss in his $125K Audi near her mom’s home in Silver Lake.
Their last public sighting together was on July 13 in Iverness, Scotland, where they were seen grabbing coffee while taking a break from filming The Odyssey.
Zendaya Could Play a Goddess—or Three
In The Odyssey, Tom plays Telemachus, son of Odysseus (played by Matt Damon).
Zendaya’s exact role hasn’t been confirmed yet, but there’s speculation she could be portraying one of several key figures: Athena, the strategic goddess who helps Odysseus; Calypso, the nymph who keeps him captive for years; or Nausicaä, the compassionate princess who helps him after a shipwreck.
The Epic Film Already in Motion
Filming for The Odyssey began on February 25, with shoots planned across Greece, Morocco, and the UK.
The film, billed as a “mythic action epic,” is using brand new IMAX technology and is already slated for release on July 17, 2026.
It’s shaping up to be one of the biggest ensemble projects yet, with a cast that includes Anne Hathaway (rumored as Penelope), Charlize Theron (possibly playing Circe), plus Lupita Nyong’o, Robert Pattinson, Jon Bernthal, Benny Safdie, John Leguizamo, Elliot Page, Samantha Morton, Will Yun Lee, and Mia Goth.
No Rush Down the Aisle—They’re in It for the Long Haul
For now, it seems Zendaya and Tom are putting their wedding plans on the back burner—not because of doubt, but because of dreams.
Between filming, producing, and navigating A-list careers, the two are simply making time for their ambitions first.
But according to those close to them, there’s no question about the love that’s keeping them grounded—wherever in the world they happen to be filming next.
