We’ve seen plenty of celebrity makeovers over the years, but Zac Brown’s recent transformation goes beyond appearance—it’s about discipline, mindset, and reclaiming his health.

The country singer has dropped an impressive 65 pounds, and now, at 46, he’s opening up about how he did it and why it matters so much to him.

A Seven-Year Mission to Reclaim His Body and Mind

Zac didn’t just wake up one day and shed the weight.

He’s been on what he describes as a “spirit quest”—a tough, seven-year journey filled with trial and error.

He’s experimented with everything from vegan diets to cutting out certain food groups, all in search of a lifestyle that made him feel good physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Now weighing just under 200 pounds, he says he finally feels like himself again.

His message to others? Start treating your health like an investment. “Invest in the way that you feel,” he said.

Cutting the Booze and Reading Every Label

One of the biggest changes Zac made? Saying goodbye to alcohol completely.

That one shift alone had a huge impact. But he didn’t stop there—he also became extremely mindful about what goes into his body, taking the time to read food labels and keep processed snacks out of the house.

He’s now committed to a clean eating routine: gluten-free, dairy-free, sugar-free, and alcohol-free. Not easy, but clearly effective.

Simple, Structured Eating with a Purpose

So, what does Zac actually eat? Surprisingly, his routine is simple.

He sticks to three meals a day, spaced about four hours apart.

After his last meal, he fasts for 14 hours—a strategy that’s become popular for both weight loss and metabolic health.

His meals are built around paleo principles: plenty of vegetables, high-quality protein, and whole, unprocessed foods. No boxes. No bags. Just real fuel.

Training Like a Pro, With a Little Help From the NFL

Zac didn’t take on this journey alone. He’s been working with a nutritionist and an NFL trainer to guide his fitness program.

His workouts aren’t just about losing weight—they’re focused on building strength and keeping his body in peak condition.

And while he does get his cardio in (especially on the Arc Trainer, which simulates a low-impact elliptical movement), he also mixes in fun.

Think pickleball or other outdoor activities where exercise doesn’t feel like exercise.

Changing His Mindset, Not Just His Body

One of the biggest shifts Zac has made is mental.

He told GQ that the key to staying on track is knowing how you want to feel.

On days when he doesn’t feel like working out, he pushes through anyway—because those are the days it counts most.

“I make my choices based on how I want to feel, how I want to look, and the energy I have,” he explained.

“That discipline pulls you out of a funk.”

Love and a New Beginning With Kendra Scott

Zac’s not just feeling better—he’s glowing in his personal life too.

In July, it was revealed that he’s now engaged to jewelry designer and entrepreneur Kendra Scott, just months after they made their relationship red carpet official at the American Music Awards.

“We are so happy and grateful that we found each other,” the couple told People magazine.

Zac sealed the deal with a stunning pink, bezel-set diamond ring.

A Blended Family and Shared Life Experience

Both Zac and Kendra have been married before and come into their new chapter with full lives.

Zac shares five children with his ex-wife, Shelly Brown.

Kendra is a mom to two adult sons from her first marriage to John Scott and also has a young son with another ex, Matt Davis.

Their relationship turned heads when they debuted at the AMAs, and their engagement came as a joyful surprise to fans.

Health, Happiness, and a Fresh Start

For Zac Brown, this isn’t just a diet story. It’s a life overhaul—from food and fitness to love and family.

He’s proof that change doesn’t happen overnight—but with patience, intention, and a little help along the way, it’s absolutely possible.
