If you’re a young African entrepreneur already working hard to make your community more climate-resilient—this opportunity is for you.

Whether you’re tackling unpredictable weather patterns affecting local farms or helping cities bounce back after floods, the In-Country YouthADAPT Challenge wants to back your vision with funding, mentorship, and serious growth support.

Calling Innovators in 5 Key Countries

The spotlight is on youth-led MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) based in Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, or Tanzania.

If you’re already running a business and need a boost to expand your climate solution, this is your chance to apply for a grant of up to $30,000, plus join a tailored support program that could change your business journey.

Why This Challenge Matters Now

Africa is feeling the brunt of climate change—whether it’s farmers struggling with erratic rainfall or cities overwhelmed by floods.

The YouthADAPT Challenge is on a mission to find innovative, locally-driven, and scalable solutions that build real resilience.

The focus is on two vital areas: agriculture and infrastructure, with an emphasis on green technology, digital tools, and community-first ideas.

This initiative is part of the Africa Adaptation Acceleration Program (AAAP)—a joint effort by the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the Global Center on Adaptation (GCA).
