Youth4Climate (Y4C) is excited to announce the third edition of its Call for Solutions, a global initiative aimed at empowering young people and youth-led organizations to lead innovative climate action projects.
This challenge seeks to fund new and existing youth-led solutions that are ready for implementation or scaling up.
By providing essential funding and learning opportunities, Y4C aims to support the development of young leaders in the climate space.
Funding and Support for Youth-Led Projects
Since its inception, Youth4Climate has provided over USD 2.5 million in funding to 100 youth-led climate projects across 52 countries.
With the 2025 Call for Solutions, the initiative is once again encouraging youth innovators to apply for funding, resources, and opportunities to further develop and expand their climate-focused ideas.
Focus Areas for 2025
The 2025 Call for Solutions will focus on six key thematic areas:
- Sustainable Energy
- Food and Agriculture
- Climate and Health
- Digital for Planet
- Climate, Peace, and Security
- Nature for Climate Action
Youth-led projects tackling these areas will be considered for funding and support.
Background of the Youth4Climate Initiative
Young people make up the world’s largest generation, with 1.9 billion individuals aged 15 to 29.
As key players in global efforts to address climate change, young people have shown themselves as negotiators, innovators, and entrepreneurs.
However, they face significant challenges, including a lack of access to necessary resources and support for their projects.
In response to these challenges, the Government of Italy and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) partnered with various knowledge partners and youth groups to launch Youth4Climate.
This global initiative is designed to find, support, and scale youth-led climate solutions worldwide.
Eligibility Criteria for Applicants
The Call for Solutions is open to young individuals and youth-led organizations meeting the following criteria:
- Applicants must be between 18 and 29 years old.
- Youth-led organizations, such as civil society organizations (CSOs), non-governmental organizations (NGOs), community-based organizations (CBOs), or youth-led companies, are also eligible to apply. The organization must have a leadership team made up of individuals aged 18 to 29 at the time of application.
- The proposed project must be carried out in one of the countries listed in the Call guidelines.
- The project lead must be a national of one of the countries specified in the Call guidelines.
Benefits for Successful Applicants
Youth-led organizations selected for the Call for Solutions can request up to USD $30,000 in seed funding to support their projects.
In addition to financial support, successful applicants will gain:
- Increased visibility at the local, regional, and global levels, which may lead to opportunities for scaling and further project growth.
- Capacity development opportunities, including group workshops, one-on-one mentorship, and project pitching sessions, which will provide valuable feedback and guidance for further development.
How to Apply for the Call for Solutions

- Register on the Youth4Climate Platform: If you’re not already a member, visit the platform and create your profile to gain access to the application materials.
- Download and Review the Guidelines: Read the Call for Solutions Guidelines carefully to ensure that you meet the eligibility criteria and understand the requirements.
- Prepare the Application Documents: Download and fill out the necessary templates, including the Budget and Workplan template. You will also need to prepare a 3-minute video pitching your solution, following the instructions provided in the guidelines.
- Submit Your Application: Complete the application form on the platform and upload your video and templates as required.
- Deadline for Submission: The application deadline is May 26, 2025.
