Imagine a rare collectible toy triggering a massive tantrum—and a costly aftermath.
That’s exactly what happened recently in China, when a young boy visiting a popular blogger’s upscale home went on a destructive rampage over a refusal to give him a gem-encrusted Labubu doll.
The story quickly went viral, sparking a flood of reactions on social media.
The Scene: A Precious Labubu and a Furious Child
The blogger, known online as Little Azheng, was entertaining family when the boy’s eyes landed on his prized Labubu figure—an exclusive toy decorated with precious stones.
When the blogger made it clear the doll wasn’t for sale or giveaway, the child lost it.
In a fit of rage, he hurled a remote control at a mirrored ceiling valued at 100,000 yuan (about 1.2 million rubles), smashing it to pieces.
The falling shards then crashed into a stunning crystal chandelier worth around 300,000 yuan (3.6 million rubles), causing even more destruction.
Parents’ Plea: Financial Struggles and Protecting Their Son
The boy’s parents offered a mere 20,000 yuan (roughly 240,000 rubles) to cover the damages, explaining their tight financial situation.
They begged the blogger to keep the matter under wraps to avoid upsetting their son and promised to pay off the repairs in installments, “even if we have to sell everything.”
“We are poor and cannot pay the damages. Court won’t help, just don’t involve the child,” they reportedly told the blogger.
Though clearly frustrated, Little Azheng agreed to stay quiet, calling the situation “emotional blackmail.”
He also pointed out that the damage would require completely replacing all the glass panels—no small expense.
No Apologies From the Young Culprit
Despite the costly wreckage, the boy showed no signs of regret.
His parents remained determined to avoid any legal or public fallout, putting their son’s emotional well-being ahead of the seriousness of the incident.
Why Labubu Dolls Cause Such a Stir
This isn’t the first time Labubu toys have been at the center of dramatic incidents.
Just weeks earlier, a California store was targeted by masked thieves who specifically stole Labubu dolls worth $7,000—ignoring other merchandise entirely.
Clearly, these collectible toys have become hot commodities, driving both intense demand and, apparently, some serious tantrums.
