Texas Family Tragically Killed in Head-On Collision

A pregnant mother, her husband, and their two young children were killed in a head-on collision after an SUV driver drove down the freeway on the wrong side of the road.

Melodi Boivin, 21, and Xavier Caballero, 23, were pronounced dead at the scene in Lubbock, Texas, while their two babies, Marcellus, two, and Lezlie, one, later died in the hospital.

The family was expecting their third child in the coming months and was driving near Marsha Sharp Freeway and Upland Avenue at 1:30 am on Sunday morning when the collision occurred.

Xavier was driving a minivan in the right lane of the freeway when they were struck head-on by an SUV being driven by George Wallace, 46, who was traveling on the wrong side of the freeway.

Fatalities and Injuries

Both Wallace and the parents died at the scene, while the two children were rushed to the hospital in an attempt to save their lives but eventually succumbed to their injuries.

Police confirmed that both children were in car seats at the back of the van at the time of the collision. Tragically, Melodi’s unborn child also died as a result of the fatal crash.

A GoFundMe page has been set up for the family to cover the costs of the funerals.
